Go Get You Some | Essence New In Town Trend Edition with Swatches

I love Essence Trend Editions. It's no secret and I'm not even going to pretend that I don't stalk the Essence displays at my local Priceline and Target stores eagerly awaiting new releases. It happens, get over it. In a recent stalking trip I came across a new display, this time the New in Town Spring 2014 Trend Edition.

Whilst everything in the collection looked quite lovely, there are three products that really stood out to me and I highly recommend you check them out while they're still in stores. I tried to walk away from them, I really did, but ultimately I had a momentarily lapse of judgement and picked them up anyway, No Make Up Buying March be damned!

Keep reading for a quick overview and swatches of the three products I picked up.

Both of the eyeshadow palettes in the trend edition, All About Nude and All About Candies, looked absolutely beautiful. All about nudes has six beautiful and neutral shades in it whilst, as the name suggests, All About Candies has pastel, candy colours. All About Nude has a great variety of lid, highlight and outer corner/detail colours that all look beautiful together. I'm not sure how often I'll wear All About Candies but something told me I just had to have it.

The XXXL Longlasting Lip Gloss in #05 Velvet Rose is the only matte finish lip gloss in the range and it was such a beautiful and natural colour that I had to have it. Matte lip colours are such a trend in the beauty industry lately and I hadn't really jumped on the bandwagon until this point.

All in all, I think all three products are lovely and though I've only had them about a week and I'm still experimenting, I think they're great quality, especially for the price, and I recommend you check them out while they're still available. The eyeshadows swatch nicely, though they're a lot better with a primer underneath, and that lip gloss/creme is just so lovely. It's the most comfortable lip product I've worn in a long time.

You can pick up the eyeshadow palettes for $6.45 and the lip gloss for $4.10.

If you'd like to see reviews of any of these products or Face of the Day posts using them, please let me know. I really want to use the turquoise colour from All About Candies as an inner corner highlight. What do you think?

  1. I haven't seen this TE out yet, is it in Priceline? The matte lip cream looks so lovely though! I'm tempted by the nudes palette but I already have so many neutral eyeshadows....
